In this message, Deborah teaches on “momentary light affliction” from 2 Corinthians 4. She says affliction refers to pressure, trials, hardship, and burden, and she acknowledges that these pressures can feel heavy and ongoing. She emphasizes that the suffering is real, but the Word describes it as temporary. She connects this teaching to Mark 4, where persecution and affliction arise for the word’s sake. She explains that when there is no root, people can become offended, discouraged, or ready to quit. She says the enemy targets what God has planted, especially truth and spiritual growth. Deborah then turns to 2 Corinthians 3 and James 1 to show that believers are changed by looking at the Lord rather than at visible circumstances. She describes joy as an inward calm delight, not merely outward emotion. She says trials test faith, produce patience, and can lead to maturity when a person asks God for wisdom and does not waver. She closes by urging us to keep praying, worshiping, fasting, and continuing in the Word and in fellowship with the Holy Spirit. She says the goal is to be changed into the image of Jesus and not to quit under pressure.
