The New Man Makes the Old Man Uncomfortable
About
In this sermon, Pastor Alan explores the crucial distinction between our inner and outer man using the teachings of 2 Corinthians 4. He explains that while our new nature is made complete at salvation, the born-again inner man must be renewed daily through intentional growth and development. This inner man possesses its own mind, emotions, and desires that require constant nurturing. Pastor Alan emphasizes that we must renew this inner man by praying in tongues and seeking God's knowledge, rather than just relying on faith or anointing.
At the same time, the outward physical body operates with its own agenda that often resists spiritual progress. Pastor Alan points to fasting as a prime example of how our physical bodies fight against spiritual discipline. He challenges the trends in modern Christianity that promise easy shortcuts to faith. True calling and ministry require us to die to ourselves and pursue genuine spiritual maturity.
