Seek God's Knowledge, Not His Anointing
0:00 1:14:44
Pastor Alan teaches this Monday morning on the Holy Spirit, truth, and the difference between natural understanding and spiritual understanding. He says his main calling is to find, preach, and defend doctrine. He also says that the Holy Spirit teaches truth and that believers need to know the truth for themselves, not just hear opinions from others. He explains that many Christian opinions are based on limited understanding, and he compares this to people giving medical opinions without training. He says the knowledge of God is not merely knowledge about God, but knowledge that comes from God’s own mind. He emphasizes that believers should seek the knowledge of God rather than experiences alone. Pastor Alan teaches that Adam’s sin changed humanity, and that mankind became separated from God’s light. He says Jesus comes as the last Adam to rescue humanity and create a new family of believers. He explains that being born again changes the inner man, but not the outward body, which remains in the natural state until the future resurrection. He turns to John 14:25 and Colossians 2:1-3, saying the Holy Spirit teaches believers from within and brings God’s truth to remembrance. He describes speaking in tongues as praying mysteries and says this prayer life deposits God’s knowledge into the spiritual mind. He concludes that believers should regularly pray in the Spirit, because that is one of the main ways God teaches them.
