Don't Accept a Religious Path

In this message, Pastor Alan teaches on the walk of the Spirit and the call to go deeper into God. He contrasts the inner man, born of God, with the outward man, and says the outward man often settles for religion. He explains that growth requires the death of the flesh and that prayer, worship, and tongues are means of strengthening the inner man.

He stresses that believers cannot force growth in others. Instead, they should keep moving forward and let the Holy Spirit work in family members, friends, and church members. He applies this to marriage, saying spouses should stay faithful to their covenant and be the best husband or wife they can be, even if the other person is less hungry for God.

Pastor Alan also speaks about parenting, work, and daily responsibility. He says believers should be excellent in the roles they have already accepted and should not use spirituality as an excuse to neglect family or work. He emphasizes submission, trusting God with promotion, provision, and timing rather than striving to make things happen.

He reads 1 Corinthians 7:10-16 and uses it to support remaining faithful in marriages where one is wanting to go deeper in God than the other. He closes by encouraging the congregation to keep pursuing God without shortcuts, to trust God with loved ones, and to remain hungry for a deeper walk with Him.
